In which we move to Barcelona in suitcases, await the dog, etc.
It is Labor Day 2019 and the day of reckoning is upon us. All the belongings that we are taking with us to Spain are packed in eight suitcases and our carryons, which, unfortunately, Trans Air Portugal intends to weigh.
We've been lucky to have such good friends.
Val generously offered her house to us (and Lusi) for the second half of August, while we waited for our final visa documentation to arrive. For some reason, Henry was the holdup. The other three visas were approved a week earlier. I can only speculate that they were reviewing his documents because of his long hair.
Marion and Dave kept Lusi overnight and met the pet transporter. We opted for flying Lusi separately given the amount of baggage we had and because we wanted to send her through Frankfurt. Lufthansa is known as one of the best airlines for dogs and they are capable of flying even in hot weather as they have climate controlled accommodations. They have a dedicated pet terminal in Frankfurt.
