September 11 (Onze de Setembre) has its own significance in Barcelona. Marking the city's fall in the long-ago War of Spanish Succession, today it is a celebration of Catalan nationalism. We didn't see the massive crowds gathered at Placa Catalunya, instead we wandered the streets admiring the individual displays of patriotism on facades and balconies. The Sagrada Familia took the cake, with a flag of gargantuan proportions.
