The kids attend a private school in Barcelona, and as it became clear during the week of March 9th that schools would close, the teachers and faculty mobilized to teach remotely. I don't know what the situation is with the public schools, and whether there are similar barriers to teaching remotely as there are in the states. In any event, today Spain's Ministry of Education announced that it is offering mathematics instruction on television for kids aged 6-16. Oh, and the quarantine has also been extended by another 15 days. No surprise there.

Mad is working in Microsoft teams and she is expected to be online in real time during school hours. The younger kids, including Henry's 5th grade class, receive a series of assignments posted nightly for the next day. The school plans to migrate them to Microsoft teams by the end of the second week. These are their work from home setups.

Mad has quite a sweet view from her desk. She just cleaned up her entire room, unbidden, something I don't think has ever happened before.

Henry's view is not as panoramic, but he also has a nice view and lots of light.

As it became clear that Spain was headed for a quarantine similar to Italy's (and now everyone, really) Ed hastily ordered a desk and chair to create a home workspace for himself. He has claimed the top floor guest bedroom.
