Port Forum
The three towers of the Central Térmica de San Adrián are omnipresent in our views of the city from our neighborhood – we decided we wanted to get a close-up view of it. The Central Termica, operational from 1973-2011, is now preserved as a landmark. It is part of a huge energy complex, separated from the beach by an esplanade dotted with palm trees.
What we can't make out from our terrace but at least as massive, is the adjacent Port Forum – designed and built for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures. It includes a 16 hectare plaza – the second largest in the world – and a striking photovoltaic pergola of gargantuan proportions.
